from the ARTIST WORKSHOP
Happy 2018…..
There is a variety of art in the halls of EKES. Near the
library there is a large dragon drawn by Miss George. Slowly students have been
coloring coffee filters to use as scales on the body of the dragon. Details for
the head and wing are evolving. This is in tribute to the visit of author/illustrator Ralph Masiello, scheduled for
January 23.
As you progress down the hallway, you will see the collaborative work done on December 15, planned by the Theme Committee, and inspired by Peter Reynolds’ The Dot. Everyone used oil pastels to put color on paper, and added black paint for details and a unifying element. Each is eye-catching separately and together it is a powerful statement of cooperation.

Near the end of the hallway, at the ramp, another collaborative
is developing. Composed of art projects
from 4W and 3S, there are repurposed postcard woven pieces, and watercolor
depictions of the paper baskets 3S made before the winter break. They composed
a poem to accompany the visual.
The circular weavings are being
added as completed.
